Elevated Garden City - Christchurch, New Zealand

As you all probably know Christchurch was hit by a violent earthquake last month and most of the CBD was destroyed. This gave the opportunities for designers to step in and help plan what the city would evolve to in the future. I came across this group of people and I thought it'll be interesting to share their ideas.

I think this project will encourage many people to speak out their idea of the future for
Christchurch. :D

  1. this project reminds of the project in china! the roof top agriculture scheme back a few years.

Personally I feel the chinese one seems more 'real' as in more reasonable to be such way... i wonder of the practicality of the elevated-ness of this project in NZ... i mean.,,, christchurch itself... is there really a need?

  3. I think this project is just the starting point. A lot more ideas and design are going to come after this one since it's not an official project but just a bunch of people who got together and expressed their ideas. Who knows maybe it could be turn into a design competition or something similar. Taking a crisis into an opportunity.
